Today is National Social Media Day, as if society isn’t ruined enough already

Started in 2010 by Mashable, June 30th is national social media day. The idea behind it is that you post on your favourite social media platform #SocialMediaDay and see if there are any meet ups in your area. However, what you are meant to do at these meet ups is a little but of a mystery. I am guessing it involves being glued to your phone and ignoring everyone else.

Would it not make more sense just to set up a national ignore everyone around you in favour of your phone day? Or is that everyday? Social Media Day is pointless. So is this article…….Sorry. At least by reading it you have successful ignored a conversation with everyone in the same room as you.
